\nThroughout my career as a Technical Consultant, Pre\u2011Sales Engineer, and Architect, I\u2019ve had the privilege of designing, implementing, and advising on complex infrastructures across Portugal, Europe, and Africa.
\nFrom the early days of UNIX and Alpha Servers to modern Cloud, Multi\u2011Cloud, desining architectures, my work has always revolved around solving real\u2011world challenges through technology, automation, and solid engineering principles.<\/p>\n
Since 2015, my focus has shifted more toward architecture, advisory roles, and Proof of Concept (POC) delivery, working closely with vendors to help organizations modernize their environments and adopt cloud\u2011ready solutions.

\n2015 \u2013 Nationwide Wireless Modernization (Portugal)
\nDesigned new wireless coverage for all dealerships across Portugal (\u2248300 APs).
\nImplemented 802.1X for private networks and captive portal for guests.

2015 \u2013 Large\u2011Scale Automation Initiative
\nAutomated operations for an environment with 120 ESXi hosts, 800+ Linux servers, OS\/2 VMs, and several old vms with Solaris x86 servers.
\nIntegrated HP Server Automation and Operations Orchestrator.\u00a0Skills: Red Hat, Solaris, OS\/2, VMware, PowerCLI, Python, shell scripting.<\/p>\n
2015 \u2013 Industrial Wireless & Network Upgrade
\nImplemented multi\u2011SSID wireless with 802.1X across a large paper factory (120 APs).
\nIntroduced new security layers, AD integration, segmentation, and 10Gb uplinks.

2015 \u2013 University Network Architecture (Guinea\u2011Conakry)
\nDesigned full L2\/L3 network for a new university campus.
\nDelivered wireless, firewall services, and SSL VPN.
\nInfrastructure: 70 access switches, 2 core switches, 160 APs, 2 WLCs, 4 Check Points.

2014 \u2013 Healthcare Core Network & DR Architecture
\nDesigned and implemented a new core network for a private hospital:

\nWireless coverage for 48,000 m\u00b2 with multiple SSIDs.
\nDesigned DR concepts and implemented firewalls, load balancing, and VMware SRM.

2014 \u2013 Large Retail Wireless Deployment (International)
\nDesigned and implemented wireless coverage for a 90,000 m\u00b2 retail facility.
\nSupported rugged devices, laptops, tablets, and handhelds.

2013 \u2013 Multi\u2011Site Core Network & DR (Portugal)
\nDesigned and implemented a new core network using Cisco (core + 3650\/2960).
\nRuckus Wireless, NetApp MetroCluster for HA, VMware SRM for DR.

2013 \u2013 ISP Core Network Expansion (Luanda)
\nDesigned a Wimax\u2011based network to reach areas without fiber coverage.
\nSupported 30 enterprise customers with scalability to 250.

\nDesigned a Cisco\u2011based wireless solution for 1,400 users with multiple security layers and NAC.<\/p>\n
2012 \u2013 Disaster Recovery (Morocco)
\nImplemented CDR\u2011based replication between Casablanca and Rabat.
\nIntegrated with multiple databases and VMware SRM (60+ critical apps).

2012 \u2013 Multi\u2011Country DR Audit & Scope Definition
\nDesigned DR strategy for a large enterprise with sites in Portugal, Italy, Spain, and Greece.<\/p>\n
2012 \u2013 VDI Project (Portugal)
\nDesigned and implemented VDI for 400 users.

2010\u20132011 \u2013 Large VMware Consolidation & Migration
\nDesigned and implemented VMware vSphere 4.1 environment with Chargeback and AppSpeed.
\nMigrated ~200 hosts and virtualized Siebel environments.<\/p>\n
2010 \u2013 Disaster Recovery Architecture
\nDesigned and implemented DR using EMC storage, HP servers, Cisco connectivity, VMware ESX, and SRM.
\nImplemented DNS replication (BIND), SQL and Oracle replication, and automation scripts.<\/p>\n
2010 \u2013 Enterprise Backup Project
\nDesigned NetBackup solution for ~700 servers.
\nIncluded fiber transport for large Oracle DBs and support for HP\u2011UX, Solaris, Linux, and VMware.<\/p>\n
2009 \u2013 National\u2011Scale Consolidation Project
\nMigrated ~200 x86 servers from physical to virtual.
\nConsolidated Alpha Servers into IBM P\u2011Series with AIX virtualization.

2007 \u2013 High\u2011Performance Computing (HPC) Clusters
\nDelivered 4 HPC clusters totaling 500+ nodes across 3 campuses and a government entity.
\nImplemented job submission portal, billing, compiler tuning, node self\u2011healing, and OpenLDAP.
\nLater merged all HPCs into a single GRID with unified submission.<\/p>\n
2005\u20132006 \u2013 Early Virtualization & Linux Projects
\nDesigned Linux cluster with Qmail for 38,000 mail accounts (government).
\nFirst major virtualization project: ESXi 2.5, vCenter, SAN configuration, 500 physical servers migrated.
\nSAN and storage design included.<\/p>\n

2004: Virtualization test environment for a Telco (IBM blades, SAN, 50 servers migrated).<\/p>\n
2003: First VMware ESX project for a Telco (6 physical servers).<\/p>\n
1996\u20132003 \u2013 Foundations
\nWorked extensively with Linux, OSF1, Digital Unix\/Tru64, Alpha Servers, enterprise storage, and backup systems.<\/p>\n
Discovered VMware for Linux in 1999 and used it heavily on personal systems long before it became mainstream.<\/p>\n
1993\u20131996 \u2013 The Beginning
\nJust a young engineer discovering the world of IT \u2014 but everything changed when I started working with Alpha Servers, enterprise storage, backups, UNIX systems, and Linux. That was the true beginning of a long and rewarding journey in technology.<\/p>\n
